It is my pleasure to announce the forthcoming release of my first book, When Anything is Possible – Wealth and the Art of Strategic Living, on January 12, 2021. The book has been in the works for over three years, and it is a pleasure (and a bit nerve-wracking if I’m honest) to share.
Why Write a Book About Wealth or Does the World Really Need Another Book About Money?
I decided the write the book after being frustrated by what I felt was a gap in the books about personal finance and investing. There are plenty of books about budgeting (think Dave Ramsey), the basics of investment, or textbook like tomes on specific financial topics. Said differently, there are a lot of books about how to build wealth, but very few books about what to do with wealth once it is acquired.
Over the course of the last 15 years in working with clients, I have found many (and possibly most) either overwhelmed by the options that they face with their wealth, or almost too limited in their thinking about what is even possible, much less whether their financial decisions are in tight alignment with what they most value.
The data further supports this. Surveys of the ultra-wealthy indicate that most do not feel financially secure. 50% of business owners do not feel happy after the sale of their business. Even the vast majority of those with inherited wealth do not view their trusts as a blessing.
So however wealth arrives – whether made or inherited, it can be a disorienting and worrying experience.
When Anything is Possible is meant to be a guidebook about how to engage thoughtfully and strategically with wealth. Doing so requires, a person to articulate 3 key items – Wealth Structure, Wealth Identity and ultimately a Wealth Strategy. The book walks through each of these items in great depth, and walks the reader through a process to articulate each.
